Dave has taught karate and self-defense in several high schools, special-needs, colleges, and martial arts clubs for more than 30 years. He has participated as a competitor and judge in numerous local and North American tournaments. He is accredited by the ‘Japan Karate Association’ and the ‘Advanced Shotokan International’ Organization.

A karateka since 2001, trained with Go Kan Ryu Style in Sydney, Australia and then Shotokan Style in Montreal Canada.

Matthew Meland
Matthew started practising karate in 2005 and has since won numerous medals in
regional competitions. He has previous experience teaching karate to people with
special needs and received his black belt in 2014.

Octavio Manzano
Octavio embarked on his karate journey as a teenager in Mexico, engaging in numerous tournaments. Upon relocating to Canada for engineering studies, he maintained his karate training under Sensei Ashraf from 2012. Since then, he has actively participated in various karate tournaments, earning his black belt in 2014 and his second Dan in 2019. With over 9 years of teaching experience, Octavio remains a dedicated student of Sensei Ashraf.
